Last month, my friend and I embarked on short day trip to Williamsburg, Brooklyn! A gentrified neighborhood where shops, cafés, and hipsters abound.
We began with brunch at a French-inspired restaurant called Juliette:
And both of us liked it a lot, because the service and ambience made up for a rather average-tasting meal—the kind that screams,”You’ve probably tasted better.”
After chatting for a while about our career goals and respective SO’s (jk I’m single), we left Juliette and headed over to some vintage shops across the street. And let’s just say, there were a lot of CUTE….
….overpriced clothes that we had no intention of buying. 😉
We then came across an independent bookstore called Spoonbill & Sugartown (a name I looked up literally five seconds ago):
And we also sported glasses at an eyewear shop on Bedford Avenue…
In the afternoon, we headed over to Pies N’ Thighs for some good ol’ southern comfort food.
Talked, ate, and talked some more.
Overall, Williamsburg was a calming change of pace from Manhattan and a fun place to spend the day off from work. I’m so glad I asked my friend to come along…
Because any day that involves good food and good company is a GOOD day!
