I started this short-term project to familiarize myself with e-commerce and Shopify.com. I’d always thought about starting an online business, so I figured the 14-day free trial would be a great way to get my feet wet and even make a few sales.
I did not, however, go in with the intention of developing a sustainable business and actually generating a substantial income. I mainly wanted to experiment and learn as much as I could in a short span of time. And that’s exactly what I did!
For the entire month of February up until March, I dedicated an enormous amount of energy into my online store, Good Fun Shop. As expected, it was quite a challenging and time-consuming project, but an immensely educational two months for someone with no experience in business. (FYI: that’s longer than I had originally planned for this project!)
After a brief stint in e-commerce, I’ve decided to officially close shop today. It’s definitely a bittersweet feeling, but the research and all-nighters have given me a small glimpse of what it’s like to launch an online business. Overall, I’ve learned much more than I thought I would and I don’t regret the experience at all.
I’m still a beginner to the world of e-commerce but definitely moving past the stage of the “newb.” Perhaps, one day, I’ll decide to launch a more meaningful and sustainable online business. As for now, I’m focusing on other projects.
Onto the next!
